I will play three improvised concerts in April, all of them being post-pandemic reunions.
The first one is on April 20th with Marina Dzukljev (piano) and Michael Thieke (clarinet) at Marina’s 5-day residency at Au Topsi Pohl. Marina and I met and played for the first time at Hagenfesten in Sweden in 2018, and played two more shows in 2019 in Berlin, before the pandemic stopped everything. Michael Thieke is a staple of the Berlin scene and is one of the co-founders of my favorite bands: The International Nothing. With him I had played a couple of concerts many years ago. I am very much looking forward to playing with these two amazing musicians.
The second and third concerts will be with multi-instrumentalist/architect Udo Schindler in Munich. Udo and I met in 2016 when he invited me to play with him. Our two concerts (one in duo, the other one with trombone player Sebi Tramontana) were released as albums (see releases for more info). The album launch concerts for these two albums took place in 2018 in Munich. As a post-pandemic reunion, Udo and I will play in duo on April 22nd at MUCCA and in trio with flutist Karina Erhard at Galerie Schnitzler& on April 23rd.
