Concerts in Bielefeld and Berlin in October

I’ll be playing two concerts this month. Less is more, they say. They’re not always right, but still…. 🙂

The first concert is on October 8 with Ephemeral Fragments (Florian Walter, tubax; Emily Wittbrodt, cello; Korhan Erel; electronics) at Bunker Ulmenwall in Bielefeld. You will also have the chance to purchase our debut LP “mit gefühl” at this concert. The other trio on the bill is Der Dritte Stand with Matthias Müller on trombone, Matthias Bauer on double bass and Rudi Fischerlehner on drums and percussion.

Ephemeral Fragments will also play at Ausland in Berlin and Black Box in Münster in 2023. Check this page for details.

I’ll be focusing more on composing and playing solo concerts in the next few years. My first solo concert in this endeavor will be on October 14 at the be kind festival at Cafe Babette at KINDL – Center for Contemporary Art in Berlin. I will be playing some new and old compositions in this concert. The other band on the bill are Ulrike Haage on piano and Susanne Stock on accordion. Please check out the festival program for other evenings (October 13, 15, 16) for more exciting music. Each ticket includes delicious vegan food! Please come and support me in this new step in my musical adventures! I’m scared, but also excited about returning to playing more solo concerts!

Speaking of composing… my piece Soundtracking (2021), commissioned by Lange//Berweck//Lorenz, a trio for live electroacoustic music, was performed twice in September in Berlin (KONTAKTE ’22 Festival) and Zürich (Kunstraum Walcheturm). You can watch a video of the piece performed by the trio below. There will be another collaboration with them in 2023.
