Members of two free improvisation groups in Istanbul, Islak Köpek and Have You Seen My Bird? come together for an evening of free improvised music at the French Cultural Institute’s concert hall on February 4, 2011. The Turkish, French and American members of these two groups have played together in many concerts and on several albums released on the Turkish free improvisation netlabel re:konstrukt as well as the recent Below The Radar Special Edition: Melting Pot released by The Wire to their subscribers with their November 2011 issue (Melting Pot Istanbul).

New project with flute player Mark Alban Lotz: Lotz/Erel duo. I played with Mark for the first time at a concert in Gitar Cafe, Istanbul. A few days later my band Islak Köpek went into the studio with him to record. The results were very good. I was particularly fond of the four duos I recorded with him. All four will be included in the forthcoming Islak Köpek album with Mark to be released in March 2011 on the Dutch label Evil Rabbit Records. Please visit the Soundcloud page for further details.
